Premonantly
For the past month, a time including most of April, I've spent quite a bit of time back in Sactoe. This began with my spending all of spring break in this place, my hometown, which began early becuase my only class on Tuesdays and Thursdays was cancelled the Thursday before break. That allowed me to go home earlier, by a couple hours really, but also spend more time with friends. A particularly good night was spent the first Friday back in Sactoe at a KDVS dance party at some house in Davis. This post is not about my spring break, though, so I'll move on to the best of my ability. During spring break, as this is necessary for the setup of why I am going back and forth so much, I mentioned to my dad that I was thinking of moving back to Sactoe after I graduate. Knowing that I plan to pursue employment in some form to utilize my degree my dad suggested a couple jobs that may interest me. These consisted of being an assistant of some form in different kinds of schools, mostly in the realm of special needs. I figured his ideas were worth pursuing and told him as such. Then I continue spring break and get spring worn out after some spring drinking and spring late nights. During the next week my dad calls me at some point, maybe in the middle of the week, and tells me that a certain place is looking for people and could interview me if I'm interested. I let him know that I'll be available the following weekend, on a Friday, because I'll be in town for the Peep Off on Sunday, April 23rd, anyway. An interview is setup and I go home the Thursday night before. Interview on Friday. KDVS dance party, at some other house in Davis--where Lady Killimanjaro DJ'd (quite awesomely too!) after we walked around the sprinkling rain trying to find the place (quoting Lady: "if we don't find this place in the next block we're going back to my apartment and drinking beer"), I brought a case of Olympia "It's the water!" beer, got introduced as Oddy (literally, not in place of my real name-o) and met a couple people saying 'ohh, you're Oddy', drank and danced, talked about web-comics, helped clean up bottle after bottle after can, talked to some annoying 'just showed up at the end of the party' people, got a free bottle of unopened beer, and played Mario 3 until Lady Manjaro fell asleep (then played another level before waking him up). Sunday Peep Off. After my interview I had to do an observation of the school to see what I thought and get a better idea if I was still interested. The following weekend is when I saw Depeche Mode and spent most of the weekend in Santa Cruz with Jas, Mikee, and Mikee's bro. On the Monday following I made an appointment to do an observation for Friday morning. My Thursday class was again cancelled, but this time for advising day (?...yeah, I mean, what? It's pretty much 'day off for no reason' for most students), so I went home in the afternoon. The observation went well, I got a better idea of what I'd be doing, and made known that I'm still interested in the job. I have some things to do for the job yet, but looks like I have something that I'll start following graduation. I've already decided to move back in with my parents at the end of this month, so I've already been taking some things home, at least this past weekend. Next weekend will be similar with my plan to come home sometime Thursday, although after class in the early afternoon, bring more stuff like books that I don't use. This time I'm going home for my brother and his wife's baby shower for their little one that'll pop out sometime in June. It'll also give me time on Friday to take care of stuff for the job I may have, so I can start in June. I only speak as not having the job specifically because I haven't been given a definate, which I think is because of the stuff I have to do beforehand-legalities because I'll be working with underage kids-and I still have to graduate. Not that I doubt my graduation, but I'm getting damn lazy. Although, I will be riding my bike to school starting tomorrow. I took a ride to school today to see how the trip was-about 15 minutes-and check where a main bike storage is located. By the end of the month I'll have such firmly molded thighs, barely covered by my black slacks, so tight you can bounce quarter after quarter after any form of coined money off them. "Kwaping!!!" each coin would ring out, having bounced off a thigh. Anyway, as I was going before, graduation. Last weekend in May is graduation. I have two: one for psychology and the main one where thousands upon thousands are given a grand ceremony that I don't look forward to attending. The psych. one will be more interesting because it's smaller, only in the hundreds I guess, and booze will be involved. Psychology and inebriation. For the remainder of the weekend I'll move the rest of my stuff home and clean my apartment, take a last look over my shoulder with slight tearing in my eyes before handing over the keys, and move back home. Every college graduates dream! "Hey, I have a degree" will be heard by my parents as an answer to any question they give me, I'm quite sure of this.
