Hum on now

I've gotten used to my working schedule more so since it's been about a month and a half. I do miss school in some ways. Mainly the schedule and the fact that going to school tired is a lot easier than going to work tired, especially because class is only a couple hours and then you can do something else, while working I do at least 8 straight hours and generally don't get any kind of a break till I'm off. I feel too young to be so serious. Although, I've always been quite serious. Serious about entertainment.

Other than working I have, much to my own excitement, starting volunteering at KDVS, the same free-form station that Lady Manjaro has been dj'ing "The Shinning Mountain Hours" for about 3 quarters now. Plus this fine Manjaro has allowed me to co-host his show (every Sunday night from 5-7pm) every Sunday as long I wish to join him, sitting on his warm lap in a tiny studio sharing the microphone, reading psa's, and humming...humming ever so lightly. It's a nice teaser since I've been wanting to volunteer for the station for many years and since Manjaro joined up he's been poking me to move back in town and start volunteering. Since I've been getting on the KDVS wagon and getting a lil' on air time, broadcasting from the "Mountain", Manjaro and I have made a nice little routine. Prep for the show (mostly Manjaro, but I started helping this last time because I finally got to the station early enough for him to need more music to fill his 2 hour block), do the show, put away cd's and vinyl ("yeah, that doesn't go there Oddy," says Manjaro, "get your color coding straight, you wanker. This ain't none-that Dewey crap. It's about wits and blocking the jugular when you least expect it. If your ass gets lopped off I ain't carrying it home."), stop by the store for provisions, have a wonderful meal involving beans, have a couple libations while watching some nifty vids, playing Mario world, or just listening to the music and moaning about the heat. Then we drive back to Sactown.

The point is that I've been learning about some cool music care of Manjaro and his roomate who gladly joins in the after show shenanigans.
