So many children coughing
Unemployed! At least for a few days. The last two days of work went relatively easy, which was a nice ending. Although, it was also a bit of a teaser, like when you're crappy car starts running really well the week before you sell it, though that was analogy from a previous car of my mother's since my car is still awesome. I am wondering how much more my car is going to last, though, considering sometimes it likes to shut off when I'm slowing to a stop. And the air conditioning only blows cool air when I'm moving, not so good for stop and go traffic. But, that's why windows go down. Work then is not for a couple days, I believe, so I have some time off and get a change of pattern. It's nice to know that I have two paychecks coming my way, one full and one for two days work. The first paycheck will be neat, the second will be pocket change. It'll all be mostly saved since I only have expenses for gas and little amounts of food on the weekend. Plus, I was saving up for when I move out which is happening come the next month. Moving out will be nice since I'll have a house mostly to myself and be closer to downtown. I need to get out more during the week, but I don't want to have to drive, so being closer to downtown I am hoping to get out more. Even going to a coffee shop to read for an hour or so is great. I think that has become a standard thing for me to do since that was most of my college time, studying or reading in coffee shops. Maybe it's just getting out and about that makes a difference. I think so, at least a couple days a week. It's nice to come home and lounge around in a tee-shirt and boxers, but doing something else that isn't sitting around is nice too. In other news, I'm making tapes of my newest records so I have something new to listen to in my car. The tapes that held me over about 4 years ago just don't do it anymore. They're fun, sometimes, one listen through, but nothing like when I used to listen to them on loop. There was one occassion when I wanted to make so much of a mix tape that I made a two cassette mix tape! Seriously. They were made to listen to one, then the other, and then repeat with one. They were called 'Singular Tear' and 'Repeat Again?', the second to imply that maybe another listen through was necessary. Both tapes are a subtle mark in my history of thinking how great death rock is. I still like the bands and music on the tapes, just not as much as then. There will probably be a day when I look back on the music I listen to now and think, "geez, I can't believe I was so into all this punk/free jazz/noise. I mean, gosh, now it's all about smooth, lite, fusion cello horn one notes, 80 minute plus versions. That's ear flavor right there. Mmmmm, that wax is for audio tasting."
